It's been a long month. Juggling school and art has been an experience, but I finished every prompt for this month. I honestly thought I wouldn't make it here; I thought I would stop a week and a half in. I surprised myself with my dedication for this, drawing when I was sick, or tired, or when I was already swamped with work. I even became a little bit more confident in my work and what I was doing.
Another benefit from this project was I learned a few techniques for producing digital art, as well as what to develop. I plan to do a lot of experimentation with some of the techniques I've learned, as well as for developing more of an individual style. Another realization was that I should develop my fundamentals more - both for art and for concept design. Sketching and traditional drawing is probably what I'll be a lot of in the future.
Speaking of the future, what comes next? Well, school is going to keep me busy, so there is that. But I do intend to try to keep up some kind of drawing habit, even if nothing ends up on here for a while (which is par for the course). I almost never put WIPs up here, or art dumps, so maybe I can start doing those if I have a lot of sketches. I'll still try to do some digital painting. Lastly, some of the pieces I made for this project need to be redone, or I feel like I should revisit them.
In closing, it has been a long, stressful month. I am going to use my extra time for something. I don't know yet.
To get back into school spirit, and to keep me diligent about my art during it, I've decided to make myself a prompt list for September. The theme is Elementals! I'm a bit sad I missed Smaugust, but I decided to keep a fantasy theme going. That and I like elemental creatures.
Edit: Changed the title to Septembermental, because I might as well at this point.
